More about FUSE BOX:

Fuse Box 2008
April 24 – May 3

A confluence of theater, film, dance, visual art and music

@ various galleries and performance venues across Austin

This April 1000s of people will flock to Austin, TX as the fourth annual FUSE BOX Festival takes flight. We are assembling a dynamic lineup of some of the most vibrant and interesting artists from around the world as well as some of the boldest artistic voices from right here in Central Texas.  These are artists who are pushing us forward.  They are daredevils.  They are acrobats and thinkers.  They are painters and movers and writers–helping us remake and re-imagine the world as they challenge, entertain, and inspire.

Over the course of ten days, our streets, our backyards, our bridges and sidewalks will become a canvas for pioneering new work.  Our museums, galleries and performance venues will host stunning performances and installations.  Austin itself will act as both a peninsula to the larger global stage, and as a lens into contemporary life.

FUSE BOX is ten days of happenings, new experiments, screenings, happy hours, dance, music, performances and art–a celebration of the here and now.

FUSE BOX is about conversation. We want Minneapolis talking to New York talking to Topeka talking to Portland talking to Madrid talking to artists and audiences here in Central Texas.

FUSE BOX is about crossing boundaries. It’s about conversing and engaging with what we don’t know.  Theatergoers going to art openings, visual artists going to see dance, dancers going to film screenings, filmmakers going to see new musical performances, etc.  In short, FUSE BOX is a multi-track experience, much like the world in which we live.

FUSE BOX also offers a series of informal workshops as well as more rigorous training courses taught by master instructors.  It’s a chance to learn, to grow, and to plot new adventures.

We hope you can join us!
