Look to the Left, Wendy Wagner’s Solo Show Reception – Enjoyed by All, Including Small Animals

A great time was had by all this Thursday evening for the wonderfully-received opening of Wendy Wagner’s show Look to the Left. The gallery was aflutter as viewers of Wagner’s most recent body of work navigated about and took in the many aspects of this exhibit. As Houston-based curator and writer Diane Barber said in a wonderful speech on Wagner’s work last night, Wendy has “a fearlessness to step into new mediums with such ease.” This is quite evident in Wagner’s colorful and playful array of paintings, drawings, animated video, and soft & ceramic sculptures that are on view in the gallery until mid-march of this year.

In what has been of note to many (children, adults and serious art-aficionados), Wendy’s new work, as Diane Barber stated, challenges audiences, “channels experiences and create(s) work that speaks to all of us.”

Don’t be shy, come out and see this!
