Sheperd Fairey Controversy hits Austin

Shepard Fairey has been touring the country with a wake of controversy following him. Austin is no exception. Today the mural, part of the Landmarks Public Art Project at UT, that was supposed to be installed today at 2pm was postponed/cancelled. Is this really about a lack of time for planning or is this UT deciding they don’t want to promote “street art”? Jeanne Claire van Ryzin explains the party line while the commenters duke it out at Austin360 .
