Local Talent, pt. 2
Speaking of local talent, make sure to stop by the Okay Mountain Project Space to see new work by Rell Ohlson, Dylan Reece and W&TW’s own Lisa Choinacky. The show is curated by Corkey Sinks and features these amazing tiny Nikes by Lisa! It stays up through May 30th, so get going!

Local Talent
The nominations for the 17th annual Austin Critics Table Awards have been announced! Check them out here.
The Austin Critics Table is an alliance of local art critics from the Austin-American Statesman, …might be good, and the Austin Chronicle. Every year they do a roundup of the best in visual and performing arts in Austin.
This year, Women & Their Work gets the nod for Best Group Gallery Exhibition (twice!- for The Activist Impulse and Reality Show) and Best Solo Gallery Exhibition (Leslee Fraser, No Sure Footing).
Leslee Frase, Forbidden Love
Jules Buck Jones’ piece Warthogramhawk, which was featured in the Texas Biennial show at Women & Their Work, is nominated for Best Work of Art. So is Jill Pangallo’s dance/video/performance art extravaganza Let Me Entertain You. Both Jill Pangallo and Anna Krachey (who collaborated in Reality Show) also received nominations for Best Artist. Our friends and sometimes collaborators Austin Video Bee got a shout-out for Best Independent or Public Project, as did Paul Soileau (b.k.a. our beloved Miss Rebecca Havemeyer).
What a wealth of local talent! What a year it’s been. Can you believe it? Our hearts are swelling as we type this. Congratulations to all who were nominated.
